Middle of the Night

I am sure this happened to many of you.  You lay in bed with thoughts bouncing around, and then, a great idea pops in your head.  You think, “I should write that down!”    But, you are already in bed.  You don’t want to get up and end up staying up late.  So, you don’t write it down, thinking that you will surely remember it in the morning, because it a great idea.  There is no way you will forget it!

Then morning comes, and not only do you forget to write down the idea, but you totally forget that you even had an idea.  You don’t realize it until a vague memory crosses your mind 3 days later.  Aaarrgh!  I hate that.

So, two nights ago, there I was laying in bed, and some things fell into place about the last chapter.  It was already late, but I knew I had to get up and write.  I apologized to Danielle as I slipped out of bed and opened my laptop.

I am glad I got up and wrote, even though it meant that I got back into bed really late.  I really want to share with you what I got up to write, but I am going to save it for the book.  The cool thing is that it showed me once again how God was orchestrating this entire process and eventual relationship with our son.

So, next time you have that fantastic idea or thought come to you in the middle of the night, get up and write it down!
