When we found out a few months ago that the parent’s rights were going to be terminated, we knew that the case had shifted dramatically.  We now had a very real possibility of adoption.  Until then, I was constantly preparing myself for the day that I would have to say goodbye.  Then I was not sure how I was going to go about taking down the crib, giving away toys and clothes, and taking out the car seats.  What I told some of my friends is that after all that was done, I would then check myself and Danielle into a mental hospital.  Some responded that they would have to join us.  It was not only us as parents who had bonded with this little boy, but many friends and family members as well.

A couple of months ago, I had come to a point in the book where I needed to wait until we knew the final outcome before I could write any new material.  I was spending my time editing already written chapters.  Then, last Friday, September 21, 2012, it was final!  We had adopted our little boy!  This week I have begun to write again now that I know now that he is a part of our forever family.  I have to admit, it is with a heart full of joy instead of one that is broken that I am writing this final part of the book.

Stay tuned.  I should be finishing up with the writing soon.  Then we will make a decision on how we will publish.  Thanks for reading.
